Securing Sendmail

寄信給 mail server 裡的收件者

telnet your.mail.server 25

EHLO localhost
MAIL FROM: <someone@somewhere.com>
RCPT TO: <someone@your.mail.server>

目的: 寄廣告信、探查是否可以 relay (rcpt to: 外部郵件)、以 rcpt to: 的回應探查 mail server 裡的帳號
罩門: 從信頭的 Received: from ... 就能得知發信者連入的 IP, 進而封鎖並反查來源

POP3 收信

telnet your.mail.server 110

USER someone
PASS someword
STAT (查看總封數與大小)
LIST (依序列出每封信的大小)
RETR n (顯示第 n 封信的內容)
TOP n (顯示第 n 封信的檔頭)
DELE n (將第 n 封信加上刪除標記)
RSET (取消所有刪除標記)
QUIT

隱藏 sendmail 版本資訊

cd /etc/mail
vi sendmail.mc (加入以下內容)

define(`confSMTP_LOGIN_MSG', `$j Server')

m4 sendmail.mc > sendmail.cf
vi sendmail.cf (刪除紅色字串)

HReceived: $?sfrom $s $.$?_($?s$|from $.$_)
        $.$?{auth_type}(authenticated$?{auth_ssf} bits=${auth_ssf}$.)
        $.by $j ($v/$Z)$?r with $r$. id $i$?{tls_version}

cp helpfile helpfile.backup

cd /usr/local/awstats
/usr/local/awstats/tools/awstats_configure.pl (產生 /etc/awstats/awstats.mail.config.file)
vi /etc/awstats/awstats.mail.config.file
